On Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 02:17 AM, Officers from the Canyon Lake Police Department responded to a report of a man down on Railroad Canyon Rd. Responding deputies located an adult male deceased in the roadway. Physical evidence indicated the subject had been struck by an unknown vehicle. 32-year old -Scott Bolger was identified as the deceased. Mr. Bolger was a local resident. Notification of his passing was made to his family.
The Perris Station Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed Mr. Bolger had been a patron at a local Canyon Lake tavern/ restaurant with a friend prior to walking home. Mr. Bolger stepped off the sidewalk and into the eastbound number three lane of Railroad Canyon Rd. where he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
